A moment of indecision

How terrible it is to be confused,
To have considered all possible scenarios,
And still not know what to do.
You just want the best results.
You don’t want to have any regrets.
But your anxiety is at its peak,
And no one else can really help.

You ask for advice,
And they give it to freely.
But you fine yourself asking them constantly,
“Are you sure?”
Because I don’t know about you,
But even when I’m given advice,
I find myself doubting other opinions
And holding onto my own.

The most painful part,
The part that hurts the most,
Is that you have to make your own decisions.
Even when the risks drive you nuts,
Even when your mind is clouded with uncertainties,
And you’re worried about messing it all up,
You have to toughen up,
And hope for the best.

You’ll know when you’re about to take that step,
That it’s the right one.
You’d have seen all the signs,
But still feel fear holding you back.
Don’t let it,
Don’t let fear mess you up.
It’s better to try and fail ,
Than to not try at all.
Keep this in mind.
It usually helps me;
In the end everything will be ok,
And if it isn’t ok,
It’s not the end.

I think it’s good to pray,
So that you won’t have to worry.
Tell God everything,
And watch him take over.
He might talk to you,
In a still, calm voice.
Or he might give you a sign,
Through a conversation with a friend,
Or a sermon online.
He’s got your back.
No matter what.

A moment of indecision is a dreadful one.
People call it a moment but often it feels like a lifetime.
You spend so long worrying,
Feeling crippled by your thoughts.
It’s like knowing how to call for a life saver,
But not knowing how exactly to use it to safe yourself,
Or how to get back safely to shore.

Whatever you decide,
Whatever it is at all,
You’ll be alright.
If you make a mistake, you’ll learn from it,
And do much better next time.
And if all goes well that’ll be awesome,
And you’ll be glad that you made it.
